According to LeiFeng.com, vivo restructured its artificial intelligence (AI) department again on April 2nd, demonstrating its continued commitment and reform determination in the AI field. This change comes just a month after the last adjustment, indicating that vivo's exploration of its AI strategy is ongoing. In this restructuring, vivo abolished the original AI Department 1 and AI Department 2, replacing them with the new AI Product Department, AI Technology Development Department 1, and AI Technology Development Department 2. Each newly established department has clearly defined responsibilities.

Recently, Zhipu Company successfully completed a new round of financing, raising 3 billion RMB, attracting participation from multiple strategic investors and state-owned institutions, with existing shareholders such as Guanjun Capital also increasing their investment. The funds will primarily be used for the research and development upgrades of Zhipu's base large model, further enhancing its capabilities in complex reasoning, multimodal task solving, and promoting innovation and development in the industry ecosystem. This marks Zhipu's second round of financing this year. Previously, in September, Zhipu received funding support led by Zhongguancun Science City, becoming the first large model startup to achieve a valuation exceeding 20 billion RMB.

However, as these models gain more weight in decision-making processes, they may unintentionally reflect the biases present in the human training data, exacerbating discrimination against minority groups. Research has found that language models exhibit implicit racism, particularly in their treatment of African American English (AAE), demonstrating harmful dialect discrimination that is more negative than any known stereotypes against African Americans. The 'masking disguise' method was used to compare AAE with Standard American English.

Supply chain sources indicate that NVIDIA will launch a new generation AI chip architecture, B100, next year. The B100 is expected to utilize a 4-nanometer process integrating 2 GPUs and 8 HBM, which will enhance the demand for CoWoS packaging. NVIDIA has gained support for CoWoS capacity from TSMC and backend OSAT, improving future production visibility. As CoWoS capacity expands, NVIDIA's AI chip shipment volume will increase, further stimulating CoWoS demand growth. Analysts believe that NVIDIA's new architecture will benefit the development of its AI chips and also promote advancements in packaging technologies such as CoWoS.
